2. Tool & Techniques Exploration

In this exercise, we need to explore How to draw a LINE by NOT only using pencil and pen.
From this exercise, I learn to create my own drawing tools, and I realise that actually we don't need too stress our self to think what can we use to draw a line other than using pen or pencil, what we need to do is start searching because there are too many thing we can use as our drawing tools. The technique how we use the drawing tools is also important, different tools and different technique can create different style and feeling.

1. Compositional pencil sketches
​
Before the lecture & this exercise, I always thought that drawing a portrait must be a front look. (only one perspective) After this exercise, I learned how to draw a portrait by using different perspective & angle.
Our lecturer (Mr.Choy) shown us how to draw portrait in different angle and perspective, everything start without details but shape. After the basic shape, he start to add some of the detail by using another few basic shape and slowly turn it into a real human face.
First and Second drawing might be not that good, but I try again and again. Then I realise my drawing had improve. At least my drawing won't be only one perspective anymore.
Drawing is like mathematic, do everything STEP BY STEP. The answer won't be 100% correct or perfect, but it will be more accurate and BETTER.

2D DIMENSIONAL STUDIES
After the Exploration, I combine few different line together and create Two piece of art work. Both art work are using different drawing tools. By only using Lines, I create a Geometric Style and a Organic Style 2D Art Work. Lines are very important and powerful than I imagine.

3. collage
Collage seen easy, but it need creativity and understanding of space and line. I try different style for my collage to create different feeling and story. I use newspaper and magazines for my collage.
People might think some of my collage are funny, but actually that's what I am trying to explore. I wanted to know, can a collage become more fun? YES, it can.

In my Final Art Work, I express my feeling.
I HATE Gold Digger, I HATE Dirty Money, I HATE People Betray Me Because of Money.
We need CLEAN Money to survive, Not DIRTY Money.
Money can save someone life, but it also can kill someone.
SAY 'NO' TO DIRTY MONEY !!!
Then, I try to draw my own portrait by using the lines I explored. It really create different effect. One of the portrait look a bit blur, it look like a portrait behind a glass.
